Geo Naturpark activity January 2024

The Bergstrasse-Odenwald Geo-Naturepark (UNESCO Global Geopark) it’s characterized by more than 500 million years of eventful geological history, a multifaceted natural environment, millennia-old culture and, last but not least, the hospitality of the people, which attracts numerous visitors.

Naturepark has been partner of the RURITAGE project and is now part of the Network.

The team of GeoN is looking after various aspects of the work and activities carried out. In addition, the free lance rangers contribute to that to a great extent. Various topics form a bridge for many different interests and approaches to experience the varieties in our region: Children experience “life in and around the water”, “geo-workshops” stir the interest of earth history and invite visitors of all ages to connect to the region, etc. All of the activities are open to participants from all walks of life and origin. This is particularly visible in activities happening with children (Climate Heroes Project in schools, activities for groups during school holidays, or activity days like at Messel Pit).
